Sweeping concrete balconies of a modernist building, curving away in repeating tiers.

What I do

Three things, done properly.

The range on each card is what you'll actually be quoted, not a starting figure that creeps up later.

Site Care

Small changes, updates, and someone to email when something breaks. Any site, not just ones I built. Cancel any time.

Ask about Site Care

How it works

Short loops. No theatre.

No account manager. No discovery phase. No invoice you didn't agree to.

Tell me the job

Send the brief and links to whatever you have. You get a private thread link back. No account, no password.

Get a fixed quote

I reply with a number and a turnaround. If it doesn't suit, say so and nothing happens.

Pay, then collect

Pay in crypto and the files unlock in the same thread. It stays up, so you can come back for them.

An empty two-lane road curving through open country at dusk, warm haze on the horizon.

The work sample

You're looking at it.

This page is hand-written HTML and CSS. No page builder, no theme, nothing to subscribe to afterwards. The whole thing is about thirty kilobytes. If you want to see how I build, open view-source and read it.

Before you write

Am I the right person?

Worth a read before you write. Some jobs aren't a fit, and it's better we both find that out now.

Send it over if

  • You can describe the job in a paragraph
  • It's small enough to quote as one number
  • You want whoever quotes it to be whoever builds it
  • It's small. One page, one video, one thing that's broken
  • You can pay in crypto

Try someone else if

  • You need to pay by card, or need an invoice with an ABN
  • The scope is still being argued about internally
  • You want someone on call beyond Site Care
  • It has to ship in a language other than English
  • You need a team, a contract, or a procurement process

Something else I built

punt.ink

Four photographs and a roll of exposures. I built it as a piece rather than a business site, so what it shows is how I handle type, restraint and an idea. A shopfront or a booking page from me looks nothing like it.

Questions

Before you ask.

Do I need an account?

No. You get a private link back, and that link is the thread. Save it. There's no password to recover it with.

What if the work isn't right?

One round of fixes is included, not charged as an extra. If I misread the brief, fixing that is on me. Changing the scope after you've agreed is a new quote.

Why crypto only?

Card processing means fees, chargebacks and a merchant account I'd rather not run. Solana is cheapest and fastest. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and XRP also work.

When do I pay?

After you've agreed the price, before the files unlock. The amount and the address appear in your thread. Nothing is charged automatically and there's no card on file.

How do I send you files?

Paste a link instead of uploading. Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer, YouTube, wherever it already lives. Hosting it myself would mean charging you for storage.

What languages do you work in?

English only. I'd rather do one properly than list ten I can't back up.

How long does it take?

You get a turnaround with the price. Put your deadline in the brief and I'll tell you straight away if it's realistic.

Where are you based?

Australia. Everything happens over the thread, so the time zone rarely matters.

Tell me what you need.

Send the brief and I'll come back with a price and a turnaround. Based in Australia, working anywhere.

Who you're dealing with

I'm Blake. In my own time I write systems software: a 64-bit operating system from scratch, and a regex engine tested against V8 on two million generated cases. All of it is open source, and the person who wrote it is the person who writes your site. github.com/blavese

Payment

Paid once the work is done, before the files unlock. Solana is cheapest and fastest. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and XRP also work.

What do you need

Worth including

Add links optional, but it gets you a firmer quote

Links, not uploads. Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer, YouTube, wherever it already lives.
